The role

We are looking to employ someone with practical skills for our Assembly department. You will need to have the ability to perform a wide range of manual, semi-automated and automated assembly operations. Typical responsibilities of the role are:

  • Record production information in the production database.
  • Maintain production quality by strictly following policies and procedures.
  • Maintain quality standards by conducting first-piece and in-process inspection.
  • Maintain an organised work area.
  • Ensure all works carried out in line with our health and safety policy for yourself and others.
  • Take part and contribute to regular team meetings.
  • Make suggestions for improvements and be involved in their implementation.

If not already experienced, you will be trained in our processes of:

  • Screen printing, pad printing on glass and anodised materials.
  • Adhesive bonding of plastic components.
  • Plaster work and setting circular levels.
  • Mechanical assembly and setting of precision levels.
  • Inspection of products through the process.
  • Using CO2 and fibre Lasers to engrave and cut material.
  • Understanding angle and sensitivity measurements.

 The skills required

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/assembly/production environment.
  • Have a high level of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manufacturing instructions.
  • Have a methodical and organised approach to work.
  • Demonstrate practical skills with attention to detail.
  • Work well in a team and individually.
    • To be a quick learner and adaptable to change.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Basic computer skills to ensure that all documentation and databases are completed correctly.
    • English and Maths GCSE qualification (or equivalent).
