Based in Croydon, Greater London, Level Developments is a world leader in the design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical and electronic angle measuring products. The role

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines. Preparing materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.

The work is varied with small and medium-size batches in a variety of materials. With training and support, you will have the opportunity to learn to set our full range of machines, from vertical milling centres to sliding head lathes.

We are looking for candidates who can grow, learn, and ultimately take on additional responsibilities to support the production engineering, planning, efficiency and smooth running of this vital department.

 Who is the ideal candidate?

To be considered, you must have:

  • Previous experience working with CNC machines (Desirable, not essential as training provided)
  • Experience and education from a technical college or engineering university course
  • A passion for making high quality, high precision products
  • An understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing work instructions
  • An understanding of measuring equipment and inspection techniques
  • Good level of IT literacy, including MS Windows and Office
  • A good understanding of English, both written and oral
  • English and Maths GCSE qualification (or equivalent)
  • To be a quick learner and adaptable to change

Compensation & Benefits

  •  Permanent role, Monday to Friday (Full time – 39 hrs) on a shift pattern of 06:00 to 14:00 or 14:00 to 22:00 (11:00 to 19:00 on Friday’s only)
