Have you an accounting qualification, and are looking to put your theory in to practice or are you experienced and have worked in a similar role within a business?

We are looking to employ someone who is passionate about accounting/finance and wants to work and learn in that capacity in a manufacturing business. We will provide full training to enable you to undertake a full range of finance processes specific to Level Developments, and help you develop your commercial awareness and experience in this capacity.  You will work within the finance team and support the wider team to include Purchasing, Sales & HR.

What is this role?

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be involved in basic accounting to management reporting, administrating the finance function for the business and advising and liaising with management personnel on financial matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • VAT Reconciliation and submission
  • Reconciliation; bank accounts, trial balance accounts
  • Aged debtor; credit control & customer account status
  • Banking; daily reporting, set up & maintain beneficiary records & create payments
  • Data entry; invoices, bank transactions, journals
  • Aged creditor: prepare & process payments, supplier ledger review
  • Produce monthly finance reports
  • Ensure data accuracy, update & report on company finance & KPIs
  • Process monthly Payroll & associated reporting
  • Pension processing & administration
  • Asset register update & maintenance
  • Updating results on a timely basis
  • Cover absence of Finance team members
  • Present financial data to Finance Director
  • General accounts customer service
  • Assist annual stock take & stock reporting
  • Assist/train other finance team members
  • Other necessary accounts duties

Within this role there is opportunity to:

    • Be involved with department HR activities; Inductions, Training & recruitment
    • Communicate the company’s visions, goals and objectives
    • Undertake regular team meetings to provide regular feedback & maintain motivation for continuous improvement goals
    • Health & safety; risk assessments
    • Create/edit training documents for key processes
    • Involvement in setting quarterly department objectives & ensuring progression of those
    • Reporting department KPI’s
    • Recommend and be involved in continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential qualifications and skills required:

    • At least two years accounts/book-keeping experience and/or accounting qualification
    • Minimum GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths
    • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office programs, with an in-depth knowledge of MS Excel
    • A very good level of written and verbal English
    • Experience with Sage Line 50 or similar accounting software
    • Experience with Sage Payroll or similar payroll software (desirable)
