Due to increasing orders and investment in new CNC machinery we are looking to recruit further CNC machinists to join our team. Are you a keen and enthusiastic CNC setter looking for a new challenge, or a graduate engineer looking to learn more about CNC machining?

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines. Preparing materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.

The work is varied with small and medium-size batches in a variety of materials. With training and support, you will have the opportunity to learn to set our full range of machines, from vertical milling centres to sliding head lathes.

The role will include:

  • Setting and operating a variety of CNC mills and lathes machining high tolerance components.
  • Preparing materials to specified sizes and selecting tooling to instructions in readiness for machining operations.
  • Inspecting work carried out following the quality assurance system and recording production information.
  • Assisting with stock control of materials, tooling and consumables.
  • Keeping machines and workshop clean and in good maintenance.
  • Meeting delivery requirements.

Interested? To be considered, you must have:

  • Ideally, 1-2 years of previous experience working with CNC machines, or a recent engineering qualification and an interest in this aspect of engineering and manufacturing
  • A passion for making high quality, high precision products.
  • An understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and manufacturing work instructions.
  • An understanding of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Good level of IT literacy, including MS Windows and Office.

The machine shop runs early and late shifts and we are looking for flexible individuals who will be able to work the shifts as well as people who may be looking for and able to work overlapping the day shifts to support handovers but with the flexibility to work on any shift for holiday or training cover.

In return we will offer you a permanent role, working 39 hours per week. You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary, the option to join our bi-annual bonus scheme (subject to eligibility) and 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
