With ambitious growth plans in full swing we are looking for a motivated Machine Shop Technician to join our expanding team. Suitable candidates will bring flexibility and enthusiasm to support our busy production schedule and to improve their own machining skills.

You will be responsible for operating CNC machines. Preparing materials and tooling for upcoming jobs. Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection, checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and bright CNC operator or technical college finisher, looking to take the next step and join a highly successful business with ambitious growth plans.

The machine shop runs double day shifts and the role will be flexible. While the role is based on a single day shift to overlap and support the early and late shifts, this must be combined with a willingness to help by working on these shifts for holiday or training cover.

The role will include:

  • Setting and operating a variety of CNC mills and lathes machining high tolerance components.
  • Preparing materials to specified sizes and selecting tooling to instructions in readiness for machining operations.
  • Inspecting work carried out following the quality assurance system and recording production information.
  • Assisting in stock control of materials, tooling and consumables.
  • Keeping machines and workshop clean and in good maintenance.
  • Meeting delivery requirements.

Interested? To be considered, you must have:

  • 2 years previous experience operating CNC machines or manufacturing processes.
  • A passion for making high quality, high precision products.
  • An understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and manufacturing work instructions.
  • An understanding of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Good level of IT literacy, including MS Windows and Office.
