Level Developments is a world leader in the design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical and electronic angle measuring products. We undertake the full design and manufacturing process at our business units in Croydon and we sell our products across the world. We have actively grown year on year since established in 1987 and although this year has had its challenges for business across the world, we have continued to invest in our people, environment, equipment and product development and remain focused on continued success.

Responsibilities and Duties

We have received a new contract which has stretched our capacity in our grinding dept, and so we are looking to recruit a production operator at short notice. Training will be provided but we are looking for someone with some experience in this kind of work. The production dept comprises a small friendly team working in a modern facility in our factory in Croydon.

Responsibilities include:

  • Read and understand the works instructions, drawings and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Prepare grinding production equipment for operation to works instruction setup.
  • Operate production equipment to produce the product.
  • Record production information in the production database.
  • Maintain quality standards by conducting first-piece and in-process inspection.
  • Maintain production quality, by strictly following policies and procedures.
  • Able to provide help and support to other departmental areas as and when required to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area in line with current 5S policy.
  • Ensure all works carried out in line with Level Developments health and safety policy for yourself and others.
  • Take part and contribute to regular team meetings, and make suggestions for improvements to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required.

You should be able to read engineering drawings and have proficient maths knowledge to carry out the regular day to day duties for this position. Having a methodical and organised approach to work is essential, as you will be expected to organise your daily scheduled work and communicate clearly with other team members. Caring about the quality of your work and product, plus being happy to challenge the norm, suggest improvements and achieve goals is essential for success.

Although we require the basic skills and knowledge, we will provide full training.

The position offered is shift work early (6am-2pm) or late (2pm-10pm), however you will commence on a flexible day shift until you are competent.
