Telehandler Inclinometers and Levels

Carrying heavy loads at the end of a long boom arm can cause telehandlers to be unstable, especially if they are being used on uneven ground. Mechanical and electronic inclinometers can be used to warn the operator of the safe working limits, and help the machine control ensure these limits are observed. Boom Angle Measurement

Typically a boom angle sensor would be a single axis sensor with a measurement range from 0 to 90°. Mechanical ball indicators can be mounted directly to the boom to give a visual indication to the operator. Electronic sensors can be used to report angle to the machine control system, or to a local display. Knowing the boom angle can provide useful information to the operator and also help ensure the telehandler is operated within it’s safe limits. Our products are tough and reliable, and available with a range of output types to interface to most control systems, including the industry standard CAN J1939.

Levelling and Roll Angle Control

TDuring operation the telehandler roll angle
must be controlled to prevent rollover when the boom is extended, or a heavy load is collected. Mechanical indicators can provide this information to the operator, with safe working limits highlighted on the display, or an electronic sensor can provide visual or audible feedback when the safe working limit is approached or exceeded. Electronic sensors can also interface with the machine control system which in turn will prevent extension or lifting when the machine is out of the safe angular range. Whether it is a simple visual indicator, a rugged precision tilt switch, or a fully integrated electronic sensor and display system we have a range of tough and reliable products that can meet the needs of this application.
