Applications
- Used in the installation and set up of machinery such as CNC machining centres, CNC lathes and all types of printing machines.
- To align the axes and workpieces on a machine with reference to the machines base.
- To measure twist in the bed, frame, rollers, shafts or the table of a machine.
- Levelling and checking surface tables and multi-axis coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
- All our engineers levels are designed with both a flat and V shaped base meaning they can be used to level both flat and cylindrical surfaces.

FAQs
A machinist level, also know as a precision level or as a master precision level, is a level that is designed to provide a greater levelling accuracy than a common builder’s type level. It is a tool that is very sensitive and precise which is commonly used for machine tool installation, machine levelling and quality control. They come in a range of lengths and sensitivities but at their most accurate can measure level within less than 1 arc second or 0.005mm/m.
Precision digital levelling combines a precision spirit level with modern level sensing technology. They utilise electronic sensors and digital displays to offer many benefits over traditional bubble levels, such as higher accuracy, better long term stability, faster stabilisation, easier re-calibration and hands free remote level readout using Bluetooth and a connected smartphone.
Place the level on a clean, flat surface and note the bubble’s position. Next rotate the level 180° and place it back in the same spot. If the bubble is in a different position then the level needs to be recalibrated. To recalibrate the level use the calibration tools provided to adjust the vial until the bubble is central.
